The Great White!

One of the greatest surprises of the 2016 Astros season so far, is the emergence of first baseman Tyler White. The Astros 33rd pick in the 2013 MLB Draft has made quite a first impression. He has come out of the gates on a tear, setting two franchise records earlier in Milwaukee on April 9th.  Coming into Sunday’s game against Detroit, White is hitting .395, 4 home runs and 11 RBI’s, according to Thats’s good enough to lead the American League in batting average and slugging percentage! Talk about making an impression!

To understand where White came from, take a look at Ken Rosenthal’s great biographical piece on Fox . It’s a great read worth your time. It’s pretty cool to see a guy with such talent come out of nowhere and start taking Major League Baseball by storm. Only time will tell how great White can truly be, but he’s off to a pretty good start.
