Garbrandt or Cruz Next Up for Lineker?
- Updated: October 2, 2016
Brazilian fighter John Lineker has been on a tear as of late. He won by knockout in first round in the main event during his bout against Michael McDonald and followed that up last night with a hard-fought decision victory over Jon Dodson.

Lineker staged off Dodson’s speed and stamina and ate a few powerful head kicks as if they were nothing, only to push forward and deliver endless hooks, like he’s been known to do. The hands of stone didn’t have enough force for another KO, but they got the job done and after the fight, Lineker called for a fight with Bantamweight champion Dominic Cruz. Cody Gabrandt, however, could have claim to that and may be the next up to face Lineker.
Either guy would be a great fight for Cruz and it’ll be interesting to see how UFC President Dana White plays this one, because a Garbrandt / Lineker bought would likely be worthy of a main-card at a PPV, meaning it could delay Cruz’s title defense quite a bit.
