The Chicago Blackhawks have a fascinating offseason ahead of them. Granted, nearly every offseason for the Blackhawks has some intrigue to it. The annual question of which players the Blackhawks will shed to get under the cap, and which players they sign to help fill out the roster is enough to keep some fans hooked all summer. This offseason it looks as if Bryan Bickell has finally spent his last day in the Chicago organization. The Blackhawks are going to need to go bargain hunting this offseason to fill out the roster. Plenty of these names will look familiar to Blackhawks fans. Who are some targets? Let’s look at some options:

Tomas Fleischmann, LW

Traded to the Blackhawks at the deadline, Fleischmann was frustratingly inconsistent. He had a great first month in Chicago, but after that I wasn’t sure he was on the ice at all to be honest. He also didn’t play in the last three games against the Blues. That all being said, he would come cheap for the Blackhawks. A contract for him would look something like the one I predicted for Richard Panik. The Blackhawks need as many cheap players under one million dollars as they can get with the pricey deals they have given to the core(completely worth it). He has shown flashes of offensive spark that could intrigue Bowman if the price is right. If they really want, they could put him on the first line, but I have doubts that would happen even if he resigns. While the Blackhawks would probably rather have Panik, but if they are unable to resign him, Fleischmann could be a cheap alternative.
