Beto Aguirre Commits to Alcorn State

It’s Official!

Position: K
Height: 5-8
Weight: 168

HUDL Highlights:

Beto Aguirre doubled as a football and soccer player in high school, as many younger players on special teams do during their high school careers.  He filled both roles for his Amos. P Godby high school, lining up as the team’s kicker and punter this season.

Aguirre also boasted very high academic marks, which undoubtedly made him appealing to colleges.  In his bio on Twitter, he reports a 3.9 GPA and a 1350 on the SAT.

Before committing, Aguirre was also offered by a top JUCO school, Hutchinson Community College, located in Kansas. Aguirre’s decision to sign with Alcorn State was announced via Twitter.

Here is the tweet in which the school announced this decision:

Alcorn State is an FCS program out of Mississippi, and they registered 6 wins last year. They also almost completed an upset victory over FIU early in the season.  They’ll have another opportunity at a huge upset come 2018 when they play Georgia Tech on September 1st.
