Darian Durant is a first-time free agent and his career is winding down. Reports from 3DownNation came out today that Durant will take his time to make a decision on the free agent market, but most fans seem to already have made the decision for him.
The most popular (and likeliest) option for Durant seems to Winnipeg. One of the primary reasons people have matched the two parties have been the relationship between Durant and long-time friend and current Winnipeg slotback Weston Dressler.
If Durant were to sign with Winnipeg, it’d likely be as Matt Nichols backup, after Nichols had what many saw as his breakout season last year. Nichols posted over 4,472 yards, more than 800 more than he did in 2016.
Durant has totaled 31,740 yards and 167 touchdowns over his career. He’d be a valuable veteran asset for Winnipeg.
